Make something people want
Everyone knows this simple statement from PG that is sheer brilliance. Some even wear a t-shirt with this printed on it.
And yet, most build products and quickly growing users without *dwelling enough* on whether they really made something people wanted - and wanted enough of and often.
I see this again and again - the rush to grow and raise - creates a complex problem: that of looking back at the haphazard growth data to prove that you indeed made something people wanted.
Usually too late. And a massive waste of time.
AND YOU GET CRUSHED IN INVESTOR MEETINGS!
SO WHAT DO YOU DO?: If this is happening to you, the easy solution is to first slow down and first establish that you've got the core right - very right.
